!Obituary: Charles Hiestand. Charles Hiestand, 73, of 254 Ridge rd., died at 11:05 p.m. Monday at University Hospital in Columbus. He had been ill for several months. Mr. Hiestand was a member of the First Lutheran Church and of the H. S. Kissell Lodge No. 674, F. and A. M. He was a veteran of World War I and a retired furniture salesman. Born Aug. 27, 1893 in Hustead, he was the son of Henry and Lavina Mease Hiestand. He had lived in Clark County his entire life. Survivors include his wife, Melba; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Holweger of Springfield and Mrs. Elizabeth Ault of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Richards Memorial Home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the memorial home. The Rev. Lawrence T. Rugh, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. From the Wednesday May 24, 1967 Springfield Daily News.
