!Obituary: David Meese died on Sunday morning in Lancaster, aged 88 years; he had been in failing health for the past three years. He was a G.A.R. veteran, and for many years was engaged in farm work in the vicinity of Eden and Landis Valley. Since 1892, he has been a resident of Lancaster. Two daughters, Mrs. Emma Kempf, of Lancaster, with whom the deceased had his home, and Mrs. Lavina Heistand of Springfield, OH; two sons, William of Durlach, and Allen of Eden, and a sister, Mrs. Annie Breneiser of Disston, survive. The funeral was held on Wednesday with interment in the Landis Valley Mennonite cemetery. From the Ephrata Review, 10/30/ 1908.
