!Obituary: Melba C. Hiestand, 89, formerly of 254 Ridge Road, Springfield, died at 10:30 AM Friday, April 18, 1986 in St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville, OH. She had been in failing health for several years. She was born July 30, 1896 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of James and Leola (Stoneburner) Sowers and had been a Springfield resident most of her life. Mrs. Hiestand was a very active member of First Lutheran Church. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Oger, Columbus and Helen Wickerham, Columbus, and one nephew, Armand Ault, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in May 1967. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Sunday in the Austin Richards and Raff Memorial Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Memorial Home with the Rev. Lawrence T. Rugh officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. The Rev. Lawrence T. Rugh Officiating.
