Third child in a family of 5. Born on a farm near Harrisburg, PA At theage of
6 they moved to Ida Co Iowa.
After her marriage to A. Swartz they farmed in Cherokee Co, IA for 5years then
moved to a farm in Amo Township, MN. She was baptized in the Church of God
while in Iowa and was a member of the Jeffers Methodist church. She wasan
early resident of this county and lived through many trying times of the
pioneer women. These difficult times did not dampen her spirit and she
accepted what she had to and did many things to make life happier for her
family and neighbors. She was always ready and willing to aid a friend or
neighbor, was a good mother, and her interest centered around her home.She
was very proud of her grandchildren.

Emma Lizzie born June 18 1872 near Harrisburg Pennsylvania. At age 12some country peddlar left a sewing machine at their home (because ofrain) and said to use the machine until he came back. He never came backso Lizzie
became a seamstress. Arthur and Emma Lizzie moved near Storden 1896. They
lived on great grandpa and Great Grandma Noble's farm south of Stordenthen Lou
(Arthur was called Lou) bought 160 acres in Amo township.

Emma heiratete Arthur Lewis SWARTZ, Sohn von Henry Pfeil SCHWARTZ und Eliza KOCH, am 27. Jul. 1890 in Ida Co., IA. (Arthur Lewis SWARTZ wurde geboren am 25. Okt. 1863 in Clinton Co., IA, starb am 22. Apr. 1922 in Amo, Cottonwood Co., MN und wurde bestattet in Jeffers Cemetery.)
