Mildred M. Button
A memorial service for Mildred Mabel (Quillen) Button of Lynden will be at 2 p.m. May 19 at Christian Health Care Center in Lynden.
Mrs. Button died Thursday, April 12, 2001. She was 87.
Born May 10, 1913, to Fredrick Oranand Laura (Masterson) Quillen in Orin, Wash., she had lived in Whatcom County since 1920.
During World War II, she worked as welder in the Portland, Ore., shipyards and in the food service there. She also was a homemaker.
She loved her garden and flowers. She also loved baking and cooking.
Her husband, Lynn E. Button; seven brothers; and five sisters died previously.
Survivors include sons Bill Zapp of Portland, Ore., and Tom Button of Charleston, S.C.; daughter Gloria Osborne of Ferndale; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
