Aufzählungszeichen  Allgemeine Notizen:

5 May, 1997 Robert B Jones has note written from interview of Margaret Schilling of Freeport Il. about 1968. Note reads that Wilhelmina Braun came from Alsace Lorraine, a provance of France. I question that, but I do know that Miss Schilling had a small amount of cancelled stamps from "Europe". I us to play with them as a child. Wilhelmina's obituary states she was born in the village of Alertshausen, next to the town of Bad Berleburg in the District of Wittgenstein, Germany.

Birth: Ev. Kirchengemeinde Elsoff, 1828 page 364/365 # 3. Received this report from Germany 10 Oct 1998. Includes Parents names and Godparents names.

On page 67 of the book "Germans to America Series II. List of Passengers Arriving at US Ports in the 1840s. Volume 6, April 1848 to October 1848" is the passenger list for the ship "HENRY". It sailed from Rotterdam and arrived 27 May 1848 in New York. Wilhelmina is the only Braun listed. Her age is given as 19 and that fits close based on her birth date of Dec. 28, 1828.

Her obituary says she came with her parents in 1843.

Tatsächlich aber erreichte sie mit ihren Eltern und Geschwistern am 4.8.1845 auf dem Schiff "Charlotte" von Bremen aus New York.

2. PHILIP H. SCHILLING geb: 10 Feb. 1858 - gest.: 23 July 1871 (broken stone)
As of 2003 the broken stone with the embedded marbles was thrown away by the cemetery clean up crew. As a child I [Robert Byrne Jones] was told that his own marbles were inset in a lead circle on the front of his stone.

Wilhelmina married Frederick Roser in Rochester NY Sept 11th, 1849 as per the announcement in the daily newspaper. Her obituary says Frederick died in 1850 and that they had one child. I [Robert Byrne Jones] assume this to be the 10 year old Chas in the 1860 census.
